Estas preguntas los llevaron a buscar algo distinto a la educaci\u00f3n convencional, algo m\u00e1s alineado con la manera en que los seres humanos prosperan y se desarrollan.<\/p><p>Al mismo tiempo, cada uno descubri\u00f3 por separado la educaci\u00f3n Waldorf. Su enfoque de educar al ser humano de manera integral \u2014cabeza, coraz\u00f3n y manos\u2014 reson\u00f3 profundamente con ellos. Encontraron en esta pedagog\u00eda un marco capaz de integrar el rigor acad\u00e9mico con la creatividad, el desarrollo emocional y una conexi\u00f3n significativa con el mundo natural.<\/p><p>En noviembre de 2021, en Santa Teresa, David y Georgi conocieron a Thomas y Nasiba. Cada uno hab\u00eda estado explorando de manera independiente una visi\u00f3n similar: una escuela basada en un respeto m\u00e1s profundo por la infancia, una conexi\u00f3n m\u00e1s cercana con la naturaleza y una comprensi\u00f3n m\u00e1s integral del desarrollo humano. Cuando se conocieron, reconocieron de inmediato que estaban construyendo hacia la misma idea. Decidieron crearla juntos.<\/p><p>En febrero de 2022, visitaron el terreno donde hoy se encuentra Gaia. La propiedad, rodeada de selva y llena de biodiversidad, volvi\u00f3 concreta la visi\u00f3n que imaginaban. Reflejaba algo esencial de Costa Rica: un profundo respeto por la naturaleza y la convicci\u00f3n de que la vida humana debe existir en relaci\u00f3n con ella, y no separada de ella. Los fundadores asumieron entonces el compromiso de crear una escuela que honrara esa visi\u00f3n.<\/p><p>A partir de ese momento comenzaron a construir Gaia de manera intencional. Reunieron a un equipo de educadores y familias que compart\u00edan la misi\u00f3n de crear una escuela enfocada en el desarrollo integral del ni\u00f1o, y no \u00fanicamente en resultados acad\u00e9micos. Una escuela donde los estudiantes pasaran tiempo significativo al aire libre, donde el aprendizaje fuera experiencial y biling\u00fce, y donde los ni\u00f1os desarrollaran resiliencia, curiosidad y sentido de prop\u00f3sito.<\/p><p>Gaia abri\u00f3 sus puertas en enero de 2023 con 18 estudiantes y una direcci\u00f3n clara. Desde el inicio, el objetivo no fue simplemente replicar un modelo existente, sino crear una nueva forma de escuela que combinara una s\u00f3lida educaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica con inteligencia emocional, habilidades pr\u00e1cticas y conciencia ecol\u00f3gica.<\/p><p>Los fundadores creen que la educaci\u00f3n debe evolucionar junto con el mundo al que sirve. Los ni\u00f1os de hoy enfrentar\u00e1n desaf\u00edos que requerir\u00e1n adaptabilidad, pensamiento cr\u00edtico, colaboraci\u00f3n y un profundo sentido de responsabilidad hacia el planeta. Gaia busca ofrecerles esas herramientas, acompa\u00f1adas de una fuerte conexi\u00f3n consigo mismos y con el mundo que los rodea.<\/p><p>Desde su apertura, Gaia ha crecido gracias a las contribuciones de maestros, familias y estudiantes que contin\u00faan dando forma a lo que la escuela est\u00e1 llegando a ser. Ese proceso sigue en constante evoluci\u00f3n.
